Couldn't stand it....

I just couldn't wait, I had to use my great "new" space to create something. So, I threw this LO together. It's from our trip to Vegas a couple of years ago. One more LO and I'll be finished with Vegas. Yeah!!! It's amazing how "easy" it is to create in a clean space. I did this LO in less than 30 minutes (including picking paper, embellies, etc.). That's unbelieveable for me! You can't tell from the pic (unless you click on it to make it larger)....I ran the PP through a paper crimper and to make "bubbles" all over it. The center of the flower is an acrylic tile that says "fun". I didn't journal b/c the pics have the place and date printed in the corners. Now I need to get some sleep, it's almost 11:00. A long day tomorrow, I'm taking Christine to the Demi Lovato concert in Lafayette. I didn't get much sleep last night, Christine talked Edwin into letting her sleep with me and he went to her room. Well, she apparently had lots of dreams because I was startled awake several times from a swift kick to the head!!!! Now that's a great way to be awakened ;-)

Disbelief and Relief

I can't believe it.....I finally finished cleaning and organizing my scrap stuff. It was a huge task and it feels so good to be finished. My office/scrap room looks so clean and inviting. It makes me want to sit in there and actually crop (still doesn't make me want to work though). Now I will be able to crop at home when I have a few minutes. Maybe I can get almost caught up (I don't think I'll ever be really caught up). It took me forever to finish because I actually went through every box, bag, container, etc. and cleaned out and organized my supplies and put them either in my Scraprack in the closet or in my ScrapBox. I'm so excited and can't wait to use everything now.
This is a shot of my scrap desk. I should have taken a before pic, you couldn't see the top of the desk.
The table at the end of my desk if where Christine crops, you couldn't see it either.
Another shot of our clean and clutter free work space. This is my ScrapBox. It holds all my paper and some other supplies. It also has a work space but I find it a little too small. The table can be folded down flat against the front of the box and the box can be folded up to look like an armoire.
Yeah, I did it!!!!!!! Now I need to add some cute decorative touches to my room and it'll be complete. Not sure what I'm going to do yet. I'll post pics when I decide and finish. Thanks for checking it out. Have a great night!

New Look

I changed the look of the blog. The old background was too distracting for me. What do you think about this look? I think it makes the pics I post stand out better. Let me know your opinions.

I went to Co. on Saturday during the day with Christine and managed to get a few pages done. She wasn't into cropping yesterday and just listened to her IPod while I worked. These are the pages I did.
This was a kit I purchased from 2Scrappin Chicks. I changed the title, inked the PP, and outlined the title and die-cuts with black marker to give a little more pop.
This is my creation. I love the paisley print paper. I added some buttons and bling.
Another orignal, I inked the edges of the Santa paper and added some sparkly poinsettia flowers for embellishments. This was from a class I took at MM. The right side is a sheet protector with 4x6 openings to be decorated or just slip in pictures.

Awesome News

As most of you know, my hubby is from Guatemala. We've been working on his application to become a US Citizen for 6 years (immigration is an absolutely crazy agency). Well, it's finally over....he has been approved and will take his Oath on July 2. We are SO excited and relieved. Now we can all breathe a little easier knowing that he'll be able to stay here with us forever. And, traveling just got a whole lot easier. I'm working on putting a party together on July 4 to celebrate this joyous occasion. Had to share another amazing Blessing, God is so great!!

Father's Day Card

Christine wanted to make Edwin a card. She chose everything from my stash. The only assistance I gave was hints on placing embellishments. She is so proud of her card. I told her I was going to take pics and post to the blog. She was SO excited about that. She said she would be famous because a blog is on the internet and lots of people look at the internet. She's so funny! I love her card too and I know Edwin will be so touched by it. The quote at the bottom says "Any man can be a father, it take someone special to be a dad".
I love this picture of them together. We were at a wedding reception (she was the flower girl) and I caught them just sitting together all snuggled up. I had it printed in B/W because I love the elegant, classic look it gives to special occasion photos.

Sick Husband

Okay - my husband was gone for a week to Mexico with a friend (even though I said it wasn't a good idea to go there right now). So, he comes back and starts feeling sick. I sent him staight to the doctor (told him if he has swine flu or some other weird disease and it doesn't kill him, I will). The doctor says everything is fine just a reaction to the change in temperature, altitude, etc. She gave him a shot and said if he's not better by Monday to go back. Well, now he's getting worse and is driving me crazy. Like most men, he's a pain in the neck when he's sick. Of course, he doesn't stay home and rest, he's at work running around in this heat and wonders why he's getting worse. Aaagghhh, I'm trying to be patient but it's not working out too well. But, you will notice I didn't put "sick OF husband" as the title!! ;-)

What I've Organized so far...

Here it is ladies.... I have (finally) finished organizing my ScrapRack. It holds all of my stickers, chipboard, bling, and some seasonal paper. It's all organized by category in pouches. The great thing ... it's completely portable for those wonderful weekend crops!!! I can take the entire thing or just a section. The sections are on 3-ring binders that velcro to the rack. I have a small walk-in closet in my office to store my supplies. The rack sits on a shelf in the closet, out of sight.
This is the bottom of the closet. Those boxes hold my flowers, ribbon, and buttons. My crop luggage is stored on the floor under the shelves.
These are the top two shelves that hold my albums, new and completed.
Another shot of the scraprack. Trying to show how much stuff I have in it (trust me it's a lot).
The remaining pictures are piles of stuff I have that still need to be organized. All of those things need to be incorporated into my Scrapbox (a large armoire). I'm hoping to get that finished soon. I'll post photos when I finish.
I obviously have way too much stuff. But, I love it! I welcome any suggestions for staying better organized.

Seller Beware

I know the term often heard is buyer beware but in this instance it's seller beware......I took a bunch of stuff to Scrap & Co this morning for the New 2 You sale and was "mobbed" upon entering the store. I had a large armful of stuff and was immediately surrounded and people started grabbing things out of my hands before I could put it on the table. My daughter was with me and they did the same thing to her. When we went back to the truck to get more stuff she told me "Mami, those ladies are a little scary and crazy, they were grabbing stuff from me". Needless to say it was interesting. I'm thankful that my stuff sold. It was funny in the end, we all had a good chuckle. I wish I had pictures to post along with the story, you almost had to see it to believe it. Next time you're in the store ask Denise, she was as surprised as I was.

Getting Organized

Does anyone have as much trouble as I do getting and staying organized? My scrap supplies always look like a bomb went off in my closet. Well, no longer....I am almost finished organizing everything. I'm planning to finish this weekend while my hubby is out of town. I'll take some pics and post when I'm done. Maybe posting it on here will make me actually follow through and finish. It's been a work in progress for 2 or 3 weeks. The problem with organizing my supplies is looking at and touching everything makes me want to scrap instead. Have a great evening.

Album I made for my niece

I made these pages for my nieces 15th birthday party. I premade the album and took it to Guatemala and showed her how to add the pictures and journaling. She loved it and I had a great time completing it with her. Sorry some of the pics are not too great. I will get better at photographing LO eventually. I covered a large chipboard "L" with PP and tied ribbon around it. I added some jewel brads to this die-cut paper to give it a little pop, you can't see it in the pic.
The yellow "tabs" are folded pieces of ribbon.
At the top is punched circles with brads in the center.
Folded over the corners, set eyelets, and tied ribbon through them.
This is one of my favorite layouts. I used magic mesh between the PP and ribbon.
I used strips of PP and cut like ribbon as background.
I loved this page. I didn't have the flowers I wanted so I inked white flowers and adhered with brads.

Hello

I'm new to this blogging thing. I've recently gotten into following a couple of friends blogs and have enjoyed it. So, thought why not. It may take a while for me to get the hang of it, bear with me. Thanks for stopping by.
